Weezy's condition stabilized

Weezy is a 10-month old Golden Retriever who just joined our rescue in need of medical help.  Weezy was having seizures in his former home and was diagnosed with epilepsy. When he started to have seizures he would just daze off and then the seizures progressed to grand mal seizures lasting for several minutes. It was reported he had as many as 3 or 4 a day.

Weezy was rescued by us and immediately taken to our vet and started on medication to control his seizures.  A complete medical work up is being ordered while he's being monitored at the vet's office. We are happy to report his first 24 hours on medication he has not had a seizure.

We will continue to evaluate and adjust his treatment, neuter him once stablized, and he will be ready to find a permanent home that can provide life long daily medication to control his medical condition.

Updates will be posted as we learn more about what Weezy needs.

The Shamrock Circle Fund was established in 2003 by a gracious adopter to fund extraordinary medical and emergency expenses for purebred Golden Retrievers.

Through this fund, we are able to help the neediest Goldens: the sick, the injured, the severely abused and the elderly.

Shamrock donors make monthly pledges for which every dollar donated to this fund is spent only on these special needs Goldens.
