This senior boy was picked up from a shelter and seemed happy and healthy, despite being undernourished and covered with flea scabs. The following day the vet called and reported that Humphrey was vomiting, had explosive diarrhea, thick nasal discharges, and a deep chest cough. He was moved immediately to isolation, put on IV feeding, and given a nebulizer. He definitely has a virus, and we are hoping it is not the new contagious “mysterious” one going around. He has improved somewhat, but will stay in isolation, under veterinary care, until the worst symptoms dissipate.
